I look at human behavior and EEG as well as neuronal activity in animals to learn about how healthy people and patients with clinical disorders perceive the world.

I believe that many of the changes in the brain that ultimately cause mental disorders impact the visual system in a similar way. So, studying the visual system offers unique insights into clinical disorders and how to someday help the people who suffer from them.
